During Unit 03 we looked at different systems of faith and the sacred texts that accompany them.  How believers interact with sacred spaces can be just as vital to the practice of their faith as the sacred texts. The focus of this project is to explore different kinds of religious architecture and the function that they serve in their communities.

Prompt: Act as a tour guide on a virtual tour of your sacred site that highlights how it reflects aspects of the religion by explaining the history of the building and reasons for the architectural layout, these may include the role of pilgrimage.

Required Components:

• Thesis 

• Presentation explaining required components (3-5 minutes)
  • Historical context of the site
  • Three (3) key features of the physical space
  • Pictures of key features
  • Footnotes for each picture 
• Paragraph highlighting one (1) of the chosen key features of the physical space 
  • Chicago style footnotes & appendix (if applicable)
• Minimum required sources to be used and footnoted in presentation OR paragraph
• One (1) written primary source
  • One (1) book source
  • One (1) other additional written source 
• Bibliography for all sources used in research, presentation, and paragraph.  (Your artwork/artifacts need their own citations)

This assignment is worth 50 points, total. (35 for the presentation; 15 for the paragraph)
