US- World History I: Sacred Spaces Project 2024: Assignment

Assignment

World History I:  Sacred Sites Presentation

50 points

During Unit 04 we looked at different systems of faith and the sacred texts that accompany them.  How believers interact with sacred spaces can be just as vital to the practice of their faith as the sacred texts. The focus of this project is to explore different kinds of religious architecture and the function that they serve in their communities.

Prompt: Act as a tour guide on a virtual tour of your sacred site that highlights how it reflects aspects of the religion by explaining the history of the building, reasons for the architectural layout, and its role in pilgrimage.

Required Components:

  • Presentation explaining required components (3-5 minutes)
    • History of the Building
    • Three (3) key features of the physical space
    • Pictures of key features

  • Paragraph explaining the site’s connection to religion
  • Required Sources in Presentation OR Paragraph
